„Barcodes of Transience“

In the spring of 2025, a forest near my home was engulfed in flames, leaving behind a haunting landscape.

About a year later, I visited this site, capturing the ethereal morning mist in (mostly) stark black and white.

Countless charred tree skeletons stand in stark contrast against an infinite white background, acting as barcodes of transience / impermanence.

The soft, enchanting mist creates a delicate veil over the destroyed reality of the burned tree skeletons, highlighting said contrast between nature's ephemeral beauty and the enduring scars of devastation.

In the wake of a forest fire, what remains is both absence and origin. The silhouettes are quiet witnesses - markers of loss, but also of renewal.

Stripped of color and detail, the landscape becomes a study of rhythm and memory:

black lines against a boundless white, evoking both fragility and persistence.
